THE LIVINGSTONE ISLAND- DEVIL’S POOL
The Devil’s Pool is a natural pool on the edge of the Victoria Falls adjacent to the Livingstone Island on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River. During the dry season, the Devil’s Pool is shallow enough that people can safely swim right at the edge of the Victoria Falls water fall. Five trips run daily to the Livingstone Island are offered and transfers are done from the landing at the Royal Livingstone Hotel (Zambia) in a twin-engine boat that carries up to 12 people, taking you through the fast-moving channels of the Zambezi, a thrilling journey. Guests have an option of either doing the breakfast, lunch or high tea trip. At the Island guests are given a guided tour, briefing about its history from ancient times, when it served as a sacrificial site, to the present day and its World Heritage status. The swim in the pool is as close as you can get to the thunderous roar and permanent rainbows of the magnificent Natural World Wonder.
